I have been looking for a good set of Thumbcuffs since I was a kid. These are great. They are very solid and work well.

At first, I was almost disappointed with this item. The method of escape seemed waaaay too easy, and I thought for sure that anyone would see right through it. Then I had a chance to perform it with someone, and my attitude completely changed. The spectator was thoroughly impressed, and I was extremely happy with the ease of which I was able to impress. Escape is possible in a matter of seconds, but drawing it out a little bit makes it seem like you're actually over-coming an obstacle as opposed to simply activating some hidden secret or something. I love that the cuffs are completely NOT GIMMICKED and allow for as much inspection as the spectator cares to do. They also seem pretty durable and well-constructed. The one problem I had with the cuffs came when putting them on my spectator so that she could see that escape was "impossible." Maybe it was because my cuffs were still a little oily after I wiped them down, but I was experimenting on myself and I had to have the cuffs locked *really* tight to avoid my thumbs being able to simply slide out. It didn't bother me much, but when putting them on the spectator, she expressed some mild discomfort with the tightness of the cuffs; but any looser and they would have slid right off. Maybe my cuffs were just extra oily. Anyway, I give the trick a 4 out of 5, and offer the opinion that it was well worth the ten dollars spent on it.

I don't do escapes... But I will do this escape, this thing gets awesome reactions! Remember the basic showmanship rule when doing escapes: make it seem much more difficult than it really is. Even if you can get free in 10 seconds, make it in almost one minute of difficult struggle and let others believe you have failed and will never make it... That's what make escapes interesting to the public, otherwise, they are just a dumb puzzle and people think there is a simple trick to escape from the cuffs.

This is a great way if you want to perform an escape act that is easy to learn (within minutes, actually) and leaves quite an impression when performed. Be sure, however, to check if 'cuffs' are allowed in your country and if not, if other rules apply to registered magicians. Because if not allowed in any way, you risk confiscation of all by your Customs. If not certain, find out prior to ordering (or order separately to avoid total loss or the hassle of going to court to get things back). Better to be save than to be sorry.

these are the best tumb cuffs ever!!! right when i opened it up i read the instructions and like three seconds later i was escaping! people can check them try them on and they cann't open them with out a key, then you put them on and in two to three seconds later your out!!

Do not be surprised to see a thick layer of oil coating when this product arrives. It's covered like so to keep the cuffs shiny and in smooth working condition. The cuffs also comes with a small easy carry case that can be attached to your belt along with 2 keys and one instruction. This trick is so easy yet fun to perform. Possibly one of the easiest escape tricks that you can get hold of. If you want ideas for routines with thumbcuffs i recommend you getting "Diamond Jim Tyler's Pocket Full of Miracle". Another worthy 10 bucks spent, for i know this is gonna be a working piece in my close up routines very much soon.
